As Grand Central Terminal hosts the world’s best singles players this weekend, the world’s best doubles players will be competing in the historic North American Open Doubles a short train ride away in Greenwich, Connecticut.
The first round of the NTC Group North American Open kicks off this evening with three exciting matches at the Field Club and Round Hill Club from5:30-8:30pm pm. At 5:30 pm, Field Club’s Zeke Scherl and Liam Kenny will face off against Mohsin Khan and Nku Patrick in what promises to be an electrifying doubles match. Over at the Round Hill Club, Head Pro Steve Scharff takes the court at 6:30 pm, while Round Hill Assistant Pro Abhishek Agarwal will play at 5:30 pm.
The 2023 NAO champions and 2024 finalists, Jim Bamber(WR 4) and Zac Alexander (WR 5), are seeded to compete against Cameron Pilley (WR 11) and Michael Ferrira (WR 12), who’ve been in great form recently, including a strong showing in the Briggs Cup finals. Also in the mix are Scott Arnold (WR 3) and James Stout (WR 6), both of whom have proven themselves in this prestigious event.
In the Saratoga Investment Corp Women’s NAO, Field Club member and World No. 3 Maria Elena-Ubina, alongside (WR 2) Kayley Leonard , will top the seedings. They’ll go head-to-head with World No. 1 Georgina Stoker and World No. 6 Lauren West, both of whom are sure to bring the heat.
In addition to the pro events, the Lexington Partners Pro-Am will once again run alongside the tournament, with 32 amateurs competing in what promises to be an action-packed weekend for all.
On Sunday morning, patrons at the Field Club can treat their children to a free clinic with our International Guest Pros. The clinic will be offered from 10-11 am for children ages 6-10, and from 11 am-12 pm for those 11 and older. To sign up, please email liam@fcofgreenwich.com.
