
The University Club of New York’s Thomas Dembinski & Kayley Leonard marked their debut in the U.S. Mixed Doubles Championships with their first national title together Sunday, March 29, at the University Club of Boston.
The 2026 Mixed Doubles Championships crowned three national champions with Dembinski & Leonard taking the Open crown, Charlie Humber & Mary McKee winning their third Mixed national title together and first in the 50+ and Phoebe Trubowitz successfully defending her 60+ title with first-time Mixed Nationals partner Kenton Jernigan.

Dembinski & Leonard entered the Open division as the two seeds and progressed to the final without dropping a game. In the top half of the draw, Tim Brennan & Dana Betts upset top seeds Khamal Cumberbatch & Lily Taylor-French in a five-game semifinal. Dembinski & Leonard captured the title in straight games 15-11, 15-9, 15-11 in the final.
After facing off in the 2025 50+ final, Humber & McKee reunited their 2018 and 2019 40+ title-winning partnership. Humber & McKee dropped just one game on their way to winning the five team round robin with Hope Crosier & Chris Spahr placing second.
In the 60+ division, Trubowitz teamed up with Jernigan for the first time to win their first Mixed Doubles title together. Trubowitz & Jernigan topped the four-team round robin dropping just one game all tournament with David Posner & Sara Luther placing second.
