US Squash Hosts Virtual Junior Focus Groups; Second Series Scheduled for Week of August 17

As part of the planning process for the return to play and competition, US Squash is working with constituent groups from across the community to ensure that play is resumed as safely as possible. These include but are not limited to teaching professionals, facilities, players and families, a Medical Advisory Committee, national governing bodies of other sports, local squash leaders and partner squash organizations.

From July 27-29, more than 200 families attended one of three junior squash virtual focus group meetings. During the calls, US Squash staff members including Kim Clearkin, Vice President of Programs and Events, and Harry Smith, Director of Junior Squash Development updated families on the current factors being considered surrounding the restart of junior squash, and solicited input from families about their concerns and desired areas of focus.

Primary areas covered during the focus groups included phasing in local, regional and national competition; junior rankings and ratings; guidelines and procedures for play and future competition; and updates regarding college activity and recruiting. A recording of one of the sessions, from July 29, is available on the US Squash YouTube channel here.

Upcoming Junior Squash Focus Groups: August 17-19
