About the Club:
The Ox Ridge Riding and Racquet Club is a premier private member club with a world-class venue for racquets and equestrian training located in Darien, Connecticut. The Club features 6 international squash courts, 2 doubles courts, 3 paddle tennis courts, and a beautiful riding facility with both indoor and outdoor space. The club is in discussions to construct a Padel court to increase the racquets offering. The club, which was designed and constructed in 2018, is recognized as one of the top squash clubs in the region and has hosted 5 professional SDA doubles tournaments and numerous US Squash sanctioned junior events.
Position Overview:
The Club is seeking an entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to become a professional at the club. The position would entail assisting the head professional in all aspects of the squash program at the club.
As a squash, you will assist in all aspects of the squash program. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated professional to work at a club which has an enthusiastic base of adult and junior members looking to improve and participate in the sport.
Key responsibilites:
- Provide individual and group instruction for both adult and junior players across all skill levels.
- Support the organization and management of club tournaments, special events, and both domestic and international competitions.
- Deliver top-quality on-court coaching, particularly during the winter months.
- Help with administrative tasks such as scheduling, communicating with members, and coordinating events.
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude while building strong relationships with members and team members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in coaching or teaching tennis preferred.
- Ability to effectively work with players of varying ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge or experience with hardball doubles gameplay is advantageous.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage coaching schedules and support administrative functions.
