Brown’s Mashek & Roshkoff Become First Mixed Intercollegiate Doubles Three-Time Champions

Rachel Mashek and Blake Roshkoff

Brown’s Rachel Mashek & Blake Roshkoff made U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championships history by becoming the first three-time Mixed champions Sunday, March 10, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

Mashek & Roshkoff entered the nineteen-team Mixed Doubles draw as the two seeds and two-time defending champions, and progressed to the final without dropping a game. Mashek & Roshkoff then clinched the title against Columbia’s top seeds Thomas Soltanian & Eugenia Li 11-6, 12-10, 11-5. Mashek–who also won the Women’s Open title in 2023–is now the second most winningest woman ever at the Intercollegiate Doubles just behind Maria Elena Ubina with five titles.

The Columbia Lions would go on to win a title in the Women’s division–the program’s first. Columbia’s three seeds Renee Chan and Advita Sharma pulled off a surprise title run, upsetting Georgetown’s two seeds Mary Kacergis & Lindsay Lee in the semifinals and Drexel’s top seeds Claudia Adam & Maddison Laine in a three-game final.

Western Ontario’s Griffin Manley successfully defended his Men’s title with first-time partner Josh Kay. The Mustangs earned the program’s second title in tournament history with a 3-0 final win over Rochester’s Jacob Koeppel & Varun Kumar.
