The 2017 U.S. Open presented by Macquarie Investment Management main draws have been revealed, as the world’s top men and women prepare to vie for equal prize money in the first PSA World Series tournament of the season, October 5-14, at Drexel University in Philadelphia.

World No. 1’s Gregory Gaultier—three-time U.S. Open champion—and Nour El Sherbini—two-time U.S. Open finalist—lead the men’s and women’s draws as top seeds and title favorites. Both face difficult first round opponents in the form of Australian world No. 18 Cameron Pilley and fellow Egyptian and world No. 26 Mariam Metwally, respectively.

In perhaps the match of the men’s first round, defending men’s world champion and two seed Karim Abdel Gawad will take on world No. 12 Paul Coll, aka. Superman, on the ASB GlassCourt Sunday, October 8 at 4:30pm ET.

2012 U.S. Open champion Ramy Ashour returns to Philadelphia as the eight seed and will take on American wild card Chris Gordon, Sunday, October 8 at 6:30pm ET. Defending champion Mohamed Elshorbagy enters the draw as the three seed and will begin his campaign for a third U.S. Open title against a qualifier.

Women’s defending champion Camille Serme slots into the draw as the three seed, and will face American wild card Haley Mendez in the first round Sunday, October 8, at 1:45pm. U.S. champion Olivia Blatchford will take on a qualifier later that afternoon on the glass court at 5:30pm.

Three-time U.S. Open champion Nicol David opens her tournament against Australia’s Donna Urquhart Saturday, October 7, at 3:30pm on the glass court. Saturday’s first-round matches include an all-English match between two-time champion Laura Massaro and Yale graduate Millie Tomlinson at 5:30pm, and an all-Hong Kong match up between Joey Chan and Annie Au at 1pm.

Two qualifying rounds will complete the main draw at local Philadelphia clubs, October 5-6. Qualifying draws will be released on October 3.
