Squash on Fire Seeks Full-Time Squash Coach

Squash On Fire has built something special in Washington, D.C. — and we’re looking for the right coach to be part of it.

Squash On Fire is one of the most exciting squash clubs in the country — an eight-court, purpose-built facility in the heart of Washington, D.C. where high performance and genuine community coexist. Since opening in 2017, we’ve built a nationally recognized program serving hundreds of junior and adult players, that generates over $2.1M in annual revenue and maintains court occupancy above 70% at peak. We’re still growing, though, and we’re looking for a coach who wants to join our team.

The Role

You’ll join a strong coaching staff led by Director of Squash Ronny Vlassaks, delivering programs that range from elite junior development to beginner adult clinics — and everything in between. No two days look the same here.

Your work will include:

  • Private lessons tailored to each player’s goals
  • Group clinics, round robins, and league programming
  • Junior academy coaching and long-term player mentorship
  • School outreach programs and summer camps
  • Special events that bring the broader C. squash community together

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a coach who genuinely loves the sport and loves developing people. You show up with energy, adapt your approach to each player, and take pride in the relationships you build on and off the court.

You bring:

  • Meaningful experience coaching both juniors and adults across skill levels
  • Strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with players and families
  • Sound professional judgment — especially when working with youth
  • Willingness to complete background checks, youth protection training, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or you already have them)
  • Existing S. work authorization is strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

We believe great coaches should be compensated like the professionals they are and offer a competitive blend of salary and commission.

Benefits include:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Ongoing professional development
  • A world-class facility to work in every day: premium courts, a pro shop, personal training gym, and a courtside café and bar

How to Apply

Send your résumé and a brief cover letter telling us about your coaching motivation, experience and goals to [email protected]. We’d love to hear what drives you as a coach and what you’d bring to our community.
