Stoker & West Repeat National Doubles Title; Haycocks Repeats With First-Time Champ Madi

The ninetieth edition of the National Doubles produced three repeat champions in the Open divisions as Lauren West & Georgina Stoker and Jaymie Haycocks all successfully defended their national titles, while Adham Madi celebrated his first Sunday, March 1 at the Apawamis Club in Rye, New York.

Twelve national titles were decided across five venues in Rye and Greenwich, Connecticut, including the Apawamis Club, Westchester Country Club, Round Hill Club, Field Club of Greenwich and GWC Squash House.

Both Open divisions produced competitive draws and thrilling finals. The Women’s Open came down between top seeded Marina Elena Ubina & Kayley Leonard and two seeds West & Stoker. After winning the first game on simultaneous game ball, West & Stoker clinched the title 15-14, 5-15, 15-13, 9-15, 15-11 in fifty minutes.

Haycocks & Madi entered the twenty-one-team men’s Open draw as the three seeds and progressed to the semifinals without dropping a game where they met top seeds James Stout & Josh Hughes. Haycocks & Madi upset the top seeds in a close semifinal 15-13, 15-13, 15-11 to set up a final against two seeds Ashley Davies & Kyle Martino. Haycocks & Madi came back from a game down in final and won two games on simultaneous game ball to clinch the title 13-15, 15-14, 15-16, 15-14 after forty-nine minutes.
