Tournament Director Expectations and Agreement Documents

All tournament directors at US Squash accredited junior tournaments are required to sign and agree to a set of conditions which ensure consistency in the way that any level of junior tournament is managed anywhere in the country.

US Squash policies and guidelines will be applied consistently, ensuring the system is fair and balanced, providing a consistent level of expectation for players and families.

Tournament Directors are responsible for the overall management of accredited tournaments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring staff for the event, ensuring timeliness of courts, recording match results, managing issues and resolving conflicts that arise, arranging player gifts, providing food & beverage, and answering any questions that are asked.

When hosting an accredited tournament, a Tournament Director is acting as a representative of US Squash and will conduct himself or herself in a manner that reflects positively on the organization, and provides a fair, positive, and meaningful experience for all participants.

Below is a broad set of expectations intended to guide Tournament Directors in their fulfillment of the role.

Youth sports programs play an important role in promoting the physical, social, and emotional development of children. As an administrator of youth squash tournaments, you are expected to be a model of good sportsmanship and lead by example by demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control.
