As in past years and at its expense, the Foundation hosted the recipients and their families for an exciting weekend in St. Louis culminating at the Annual Gala when their perpetual trophies were presented.
The Foundation also hosted Miguel Angel Rodriguez and Matias Knudsen at the Annual Gala. Rodriguez is the former World No. 4 and British Open Champion known for his incredible court coverage, trick shots and acrobatics on court. Knudsen has had a meteoric rise in the rankings and is known for his astonishing trick shots.
Before the Annual Gala, the award winners and squash professionals hosted a free squash clinic and dinner for over 40 local high school squash players and their parents.
“This is a fantastic initiative, and I want to thank the Foundation for what they’re doing to recognize our top high school athletes,” said Kim Clearkin, Chief Program Officer at US Squash. “Events like these inspire the next generation. Watching these players interact with local high school athletes, I saw firsthand the high level of play in this area—a clear reflection of the strong coaching and support within the local squash community.”
“The Foundation was honored to recognize the dedication, hard work and talent of these high school athletes,” said Spirit of St. Louis Foundation Chairman Craig W. Ashmore. “We enjoyed an incredible weekend with them, their families and the squash professionals at the Racquet Club in St. Louis.”
