From the CEO: A Heartfelt Thanks as We Look Ahead to New Horizons

Dear Friend of Squash,

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to thank the squash community for its invaluable support. Reflecting on the remarkable year we’ve had, from increased awareness due to squash’s inclusion in the Olympic Games to the recent record U.S. Junior Open participation, it’s clear that squash is on the ascendancy.

I am extremely grateful to the US Squash staff for their commitment to our mission and appreciative of the Board’s support and guidance as we lean into the opportunities ahead. For a more detailed look at the broad scope of US Squash’s work, be sure to check out the key accomplishments from this year

Looking toward 2025, we will continue to invest in new public school programs nationwide. Participation in scholastic squash has eclipsed junior squash and will drive our future growth. For adults and masters players, we will encourage playing with the “right ball” so those new to squash, or entering their best years, enjoy their squash as much as possible at every level.

We will also advance innovative court designs to significantly lower the cost and reduce the barrier to developing facilities. This will help the movement toward community squash centers serving the broadest possible audience, including new varsity and club college programs available to juniors interested in competing at that level. Finally, we will continue our efforts to develop Southern California given the opportunity there and the coming Olympic Games to create a lasting legacy.

In this season of gratitude and joy, I want to especially thank those of you who have continued to express their commitment to the sport we share. The 2024 Honor Roll and members of our Loyalty Donor Society make up a critical part of how we are able to do what we do at US Squash. If you have not already joined the esteemed members of this list, please use this link to contribute and be added before the end of the calendar year; I hope you take the opportunity to do so now.

As I look back on 20 years of leading US Squash, I am proud of the strong foundation we’ve built together for the sport in the U.S. and our increased leadership on the world stage.

I also remain as optimistic as ever before about squash’s prospects and its ability to improve people’s well-being, and look forward to continuing to lead this momentum into 2025 and beyond. Thank you for your continued support and I wish you health, wellness and joy this holiday season.

Warm regards,
