The College Squash Association (CSA) Board of Managers announced that Harry Smith—who has served as the US Squash Senior Director of Junior Development for nearly a decade—has been named as the Interim CSA League Commissioner for the 2023-2024 season. The transition has taken effect immediately given the recent departure of CSA Executive Director & League Commissioner, David Poolman.
Smith, who played #1 for Colby College and captained their squash team in 2012, will oversee all aspects of the League Commissioner role, including pre-season rankings, coach communications, dual match coordination, conduct and compliance, coordination with the Board, and management of all championship events.
Over his decade-spanning tenure at US Squash, Smith supported the accredited tournament structure nationally with a focus on improving the tools available for tournament directors, as well as assisting with the implementation of national championships. Under Smith’s direction, US Squash implemented best practices and a renewed emphasis on sportsmanship. Smith played a pivotal role in US Squash’s return to squash after the COVID pandemic—including the reset of junior rankings.
