Maxwell Orr & Katherine Glaser and Olivia Walsh & Rachel Mashek successfully defended their respective boys’, mixed and girls’ U19 titles at the 2019 U.S. Junior Doubles Championships, May 3-5, at perennial hosts Wilmington Country Club and Vicmead Hunt Club in Wilmington, Delaware.
102 players competed across seventy-two partnerships with ten national titles decided: boys’ U13, U15, U17 and U19, girls’ U13, U15 and U19, and mixed U13, U15 and U19.

Mashek & Walsh make history by becoming the first partnership to win three consecutive GU19 titles, and match only Amy Gross with three GU19 titles individually. Mashek & Walsh dropped just one game all tournament in a 3-1 victory over runners up Catherine Costin & Katherine Glaser.
Glaser would go on to claim a title, however, successfully defending her mixed U19 title with Maxwell Orr. Glaser & Orr had to come back from 2-0 down against Henry Frawley & Grace Lavin to reach the final, where the defending champs held off Whitney Taylor & Alexander Orr in four games.
Maxwell Orr celebrated two U19 titles for a second straight year, successfully defending his BU19 title after rekindling his 2017 U17 title-winning partnership with Jed Burde. Orr & Burde completed a perfect title run without dropping a game across four matches with Henry Frawley & Nicholas Fehn placing second.
Tad Carney & Benet Polikoff pulled off a perfect title run in the BU17 division without dropping a game. Carney collects his second Junior Doubles title following up his mixed U15 title, while Polikoff celebrates his first.
The tournament’s two five-game finals both came in the U15 age group. After upsetting the top seeds in the mixed U15 semifinals, Ohio’s Chase Greppin & Dixon Hill came back from 2-1 down against Benn Cossrow & Samantha Jaffe to clinch their first Junior Doubles title in five games.
BU15 top seeds Graeme Herbert & Andrew Glaser recovered from 2-1 down in the final against two seeds Hollis Robertson & Nick Agger to win their first U15 title in five. Herbert marks his second consecutive title, following up his 2018 U13 title.
GU15 four seeds Maeve Baker & Celia Salvatore opened up their tournament with a five-game first-round match, then knocked out top seeds and defending champions Mary Kacergis & Nathalie Taylor in a five-game semifinal. Baker & Salvatore went on to claim their first Junior Doubles title in a four-game final against Anne Bunn & Quincy Cline.
Twin sisters Alexandra & Samantha Jaffe successfully defended their GU13 final, while Alexandra collected her second title of the weekend in the mixed U13 division with first-time champion Devon Li. First-time competitors Brandon Wang & Wenqing Tang made a successful debut by winning the BU13 division.
