Seeding Updates
Preliminary Seeding will be posted here December 4.
Seeding Process
US Squash and the seeding committee seed the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships over the course of a 3-4 week period. During this time, the seeding committee researches all international players to the best of its ability and looks to find relevant tournament results to help seed all players as accurately as possible. The seeding process features two rounds of preliminary seeding releases, each of which is followed by an open petition period where players, families, and coaches are asked to review the seeding and submit relevant information which will help make the seeding more accurate. These petition periods are used to collect additional information and feedback from all tournament entrants so that our seeding committee can create the most accurate version of the seeding possible. Therefore, the seeding process for this tournament is highly interactive and US Squash encourages all players, parents, and coaches to participate by reviewing each round of seeding and submitting petitions.
General Information:
- U.S. Player Seeding is based on player seeding points from November 19, 2025, subject to points 2, 3 and 4 below.
- Where a player has 4 active tournaments in the US junior ranking system at November 19, whatever their country of citizenship, and in their division of play, the seeding point calculation will be used to determine the relative playing order of those players in the division of play.
- Where a player has 4 active tournaments in the US junior ranking system at November 19, whatever their country of citizenship, and the seeding calculation includes points from multiple divisions of play, a combination of player rating and seeding points will be used to determine that players specific seeding.
- Where a player has 1, 2 or 3 total active tournaments in the junior ranking system, in any division, a combination of player rating and seeding points will be used to determine that players specific seeding.
- If a player only has 1 active tournament at November 19, which is the 2024 USJO, they will be considered to have 0 active tournaments.
- If a player is not active in the US junior ranking system, with no active tournaments, they must submit the international player information form (below) to help the seeding committee place them appropriately relative to other players in their division.
- Players who are active in the US junior ranking system ( 1 or more active tournaments) do not need to submit information on the international player form as their relative seeding is determined through points 2 and 3 above.
- Preliminary seeding rounds are not final.
- Note that players may move up or down after each seeding round based on the information received for that petition period.
- Please note that even if a seeding petition has been filed, US Squash and the seeding committee make all final judgements on seeding for the U.S. Junior Open and petitions may not be fulfilled.
