Outdoor Squash Community
A new national initiative designed to accelerate the construction, growth,
and activation of outdoor squash courts across the United States.
The Outdoor Squash Community Development Program (OSCDP) is a new national initiative designed to accelerate the construction, growth, and activation of outdoor squash courts across the United States. The program creates a structured partnership between US Squash and communities, clubs, municipalities, and private supporters who are committed to expanding access to the sport through high-quality, affordable, and visible outdoor squash facilities.
The OSCDP provides guidance, resources, and best practices for planning, building, and programming outdoor courts. From grassroots junior development to adult play, community events, and accredited competition, outdoor courts make squash more accessible, reduce entry barriers, and activate public spaces. By championing the development of these facilities nationwide, the Outdoor Squash Community Development Program aims to create vibrant hubs of play that welcome new participants, strengthen local communities, and grow the sport for the next generation.
The OSCDP is lead by Arnie Dratt (Project Beacon) and Preston Quick (US Squash) who host monthly information sessions to share best practices and updates on outdoor squash initiatives throughout the United States. Click here to join the community.
SquashBridge
SquashBridge is led by a passionate, experienced team dedicated to creating access and opportunity through the game of squash. At the helm is founding Executive Director Simba Muhwati, a former national champion and seasoned youth development leader whose vision and drive shape every aspect of the program. We’re committed to building more than just a club; we’re building futures.

Project Beacon
Project Beacon is not just an outdoor public squash court: it’s exterior walls will feature rotating art exhibits, combining sport and creativity in a way never seen before. This initiative integrates a state-of-the-art glass squash court with different art displays, promoting recreation and innovation.

Maspeth Squash
Jeff Anschlowar, the President of Maspeth Welding, a multi-generational family-owned construction company in Queens, NY, and his squash friend Robert Gibralter developed the first outdoor squash court with steel walls as an educational project in 2019. Robert was running a 10-week business and art program for university students and staff at Maspeth Welding. In June 2020, Jeff and Robert opened the court . And, from then on, Maspeth Squash has grown in so many ways.
