The US Squash Officiating Development pathway includes 5 tiers of referee training and certification each aimed at an increasing level of difficulty of play.
At the amateur level, where players are usually asked to referee the match scheduled after the one they just played, two tiers of referee training are offered. USOT1 is intended for entry level players and USOT2 is aimed at more advanced players.
If a player or US Squash member wants to take the next step to become an official at a Professional event, US National Championship or CSA match, and become a USOT3 certified official they should contact the US Squash Director of Officials to find out how to get started.
USOT4 and USOT5 are the top level of certified referee. Officials attaining this level will be invited to officiate at the top professional events, including PSA World Tour Platinum representing US Squash at the highest level on the World stage
