Job opening: Full-Time Squash Professional
The organization
The Round Hill Club, founded in 1924, is a private member-owned Club located in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA and is recognized as one of the country’s premier clubs. The Club offers a wide range of activities for its membership including dining, golf, shooting, fitness facility, indoor and outdoor tennis, paddle, pickleball and squash. The squash facility has three modern, well-maintained singles courts and a North American Hardball doubles squash court. The squash program boasts one of the strongest junior programs in the country, with over 130 children playing regularly. The Club hosts a yearly professional singles invitational and an SDA Pro doubles event as well as being the host of the U.S. Parent-Child Doubles Nationals from 2021-2023.
Position Summary
Located only 45 minutes from New York City, the Club is in the heart of squash on the East coast. The Squash Professional will support the Director of Squash in teaching lessons, clinics, pro shop management, tournaments, event direction, exhibitions and other duties relating to the running of this highly regarded squash program. Candidates should have experience teaching both lessons and clinics to players of all ages and abilities. A knowledge of or having been a participant in US College squash is preferred as is coaching certification from either U.S. Squash or the World Squash Federation.
Main responsibilities
The Professional’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, teaching lessons and clinics to both junior and adult players of all abilities, helping to organize the junior clinic program, pro shop administration and general communication with membership, traveling to tournaments, organization of Club and national tournaments and to generally enhance the member experience by proactively engaging the membership in all things squash related.
