Women & Girls Summit Panels Address Support in Sport, Sports Psychology and Music

The second annual Women and Girls Summit took place April 20 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, and brought together a diverse group of players, coaches, leaders and parents together from around the country. Support in Sport Panel 

The opening panel featured former World No. 11 and two-time U.S. Champion Olivia Blatchford-Clyne, Elizabeth Elfenbein—Under the Sisterhood Founder, Coach V—Open Door Abuse Awareness and Prevention Founder, and Kayaya Henderson–a high schooler at Simon Gratz Mastery Charter High School–focused on how role models and support networks impacted their experience in sport. The panel was moderated by MSNBC’s Erin O’Hearn.

Sport Psychology Workshop with Greenepsych

This special workshop was presented by Dr. Mitchell Geene and Lauren Ruhl from Greenepsych. Dr. Mitchell Greene is a nationally recognized licensed clinical and sport psychologist, whose success over the past 15-plus years is his ability to tailor personalized solutions to his client’s problems. Dr. Greene works primarily with athletes pursuing high performance goals, or coaches and athletic departments looking to educate their student-athletes on mental health and performance enhancement strategies.

Featuring Lauren Ruhl from Greenepsych and Lawrenceville Music Podcasters and players Nell Bunn & Frances Brooks discussing the importance of music and how it affects you prior to playing and how it impacts team culture.
