300 Women to compete in Eighty-Ninth Howe Cup and Third MPB Doubles

285 women competing from around the country are competing in the eighty-ninth Howe Cup Women’s Team Championships this weekend, November 10-12, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

The tournament will feature 57 teams of five players competing across four divisions A-D, as well as the third MPB Doubles Championships with ninety-six players in four divisions A-D. Teams will be coming from 15 different states and Washington D.C.

The Howe Cup, the United States’ largest squash event for women, has a long history. The annual women’s five-person team tournament first began in 1928 as an inter-city competition between New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. In this year the Howe Cup will see 8 more teams joining the roster. 2023 marks the tournament’s eighty-ninth edition.
