The Junior Squash Awards Night will move to Wednesday, May 12 at 8:00pm EDT from its originally schedule date on May 5. The shift is being made in recognition of the current busy academic schedules of many student athletes, with the goal of allowing as many members of the junior squash community to join as possible.
The event will celebrate commitment, excellence and sportsmanship in junior squash and the remarkable resilience the community has shown through this past year. To highlight the ongoing comeback of the sport from the impacts of the pandemic, the evening will also now feature a round table discussion of the current state of return to competition. The event will include:
- Celebration of the Senior Class of 2021
- Presentation of the 2021 Deroy Junior Sportsmanship Awards
- Appearances by Team USA athletes
- Not-yet-seen updates from the Arlen Specter US Squash Center
- Round table discussion with US Squash leadership on the return to junior competition
The event is planned to run for one hour.
