About SquashBridge

SquashBridge, a unique athletic, educational, and community center in Bridgeport, will offer an intensive Squash and Education Alliance (SEA) youth development program and serve as a community squash club for local players, families, and schools. The 15,000 square foot facility, currently under construction and scheduled to open in Fall 2025, will boast 8 international squash courts (including 1 outdoor court), classrooms, a library, and offices.

About the Position

SquashBridge is seeking an experienced Squash Director who will be responsible for the oversight of all squash programming at SquashBridge, both for the SEA program and for the community club. This includes and is not limited to a commitment to developing high achieving squash players in the after-school program, managing staff, organizing squash tournaments..

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing squash programs for students and the community.
  • Managing coaching staff, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.
  • Developing and managing the squash program budget.
  • Promoting squash and building relationships with local schools and organizations.
  • Coordinating squash tournaments and events.
  • Ensuring well-maintained and safe squash facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in squash coaching, program, and staff management, with a focus on player development.
  • Preferred Level 2 or higher coaching certification, and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Strong understanding of squash technique, rules, and strategy, with experience coaching high-level players.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Based at the SquashBridge facility at 1691 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT.
  • Work Schedule:
    • Monday – Friday 2-6:30pm (afterschool program)
    • Monday – Friday 8am – 1pm & 6:30-9pm (flexible additional revenue hours)
    • Saturday – Sunday 4-6 hours (flexible additional revenue hours)
  • Requires working evenings, weekends for tournaments and additional lessons..
  • Involves physical activity and requires a valid driver’s license.

Compensation

The base salary is $60,000 – $75,000, with potential incentives from club activities (individual coaching, clinics, tournaments, school and college team roles) adding an estimated $25,000 – $50,000+ to the base salary.. Benefits include 20 days paid time off and health insurance among other benefits.
