The 2025 U.S. Women’s Championship final will feature world No. 4 Olivia Weaver and world No. 9 Amanda Sobhy, while Nick Spizzirri continued his stellar run into his maidan S.L. Green U.S. Men’s Championship final Thursday, June 19, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.
In a dramatic conclusion to the semifinals, Amanda Sobhy saved a match ball down 10-9 in the fifth game to defeat world No. 25 Marina Stefanoni 10-12, 11-2, 9-11, 11-7, 12-10 in forty-seven minutes.
After missing out on the 2024 nationals due to her second Achilles rupture, Sobhy has reached her tenth career National Singles final where she will face the world No. 4 in a rematch of the 2023 final–the only time Weaver and Sobhy have faced each other at the U.S. Women’s Championships.
In the top half of the draw, Weaver ended Sabrina Sobhy’s first professional tournament run since September in three games to reach her third straight final.
The S.L. Green draw will feature a first-time finalist in world No. 132 Nicholas Spizzirri, who upset two seed Shahjahan Khan in four games. The recent Penn graduate will vie for a national title against defending champion and world No. 38 Timmy Brownell, who defeated first-time semifinalist Dillon Huang in three games.
The U.S. Championships finals begin at 7pm ET. Tickets are available at the Specter Center doors and on ussquash.org/usschampionships. Watch a live stream broadcast on ussquash.org/live.
