Squash On Fire, located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is seeking a talented and driven full-time squash coach to join our outstanding team. This is a unique opportunity to work at one of the most innovative squash facilities in the country—an eight-court, purpose-built club known for its inclusive programming, high-performance culture, and commitment to the sport’s growth.
Since opening in 2017, Squash On Fire has quickly become a nationally recognized hub for squash, serving a thriving community of juniors and adults across all levels. Our world-class facility includes premium courts, modern locker rooms, a pro shop, a personal training gym, and a courtside café and bar. In 2023, we achieved over $2.1 million in revenue and consistently maintained peak court occupancy over 70%.
You will be joining a strong coaching team led by Director of Squash, Ronny Vlassaks, and will play an integral role in delivering high-quality programming. This includes clinics, round robins, junior academies, school programs, summer camps, special events, and private lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coach players of all ages and skill levels with enthusiasm, professionalism, and care.
• Lead group programming such as clinics, round robins, and camps.
• Develop and mentor junior players within our academy framework.
• Deliver private lessons tailored to individual needs and goals.
• Actively contribute to the growth and community impact of Squash On Fire.
Qualifications:
• Significant coaching experience with both adults and juniors.
• Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills.
• Strong sense of professionalism and sound judgment, particularly when working with minors.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and compliance for working with youth (including background checks and workshops).
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to quickly obtain).• Must have existing work authorization in the United States.
Compensation:
• On Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000+
• Base salary: $45,000
• Commission-based earnings plus additional income opportunities tied to programming and special events.
