The 2025 U.S. Century Doubles Championships saw Sandy Tierney & Ryan Mullaney successfully defend their Masters title, while Mary Belknap McKee won her third consecutive women’s title–and first with Shirin Kaufman–January 24-26, in New York City.
More than 150 players competed in “The Tournament of the Century”–which requires the combined age of each team to be one hundred years or greater–at the University Club, Racquet & Tennis Club, New York Athletic Club, Union Club and Heights Casino. Belknap McKee earned her third consecutive women’s title and first with Kaufman. Belkap McKee & Kaufman captured the title without dropping a game, defeating Julie Kessler & Beth Fedorowich in the final.
The Open division will have two new names on the champions list in three seeds Charlie Humber & Martin Heath, who defeated Carl Baglio & Andrew Slater in the semifinals, and won the final by default.
Giorgio Richelli & Vaughan Schmidt were the only non top seeds to capture a national title title in the Mixed division. The pair defeated Rob Dinerman & Alia Aziz in the final 10-15, 15-9, 15-6, 15-5.
Legends (60+) top seeds Rick Wahlstedt & Jonny Smith celebrated their first Century Doubles title together. The pair only dropped one game all tournament which culminated in a final win against two seeds Erik Granade & Aaron Luque.
Masters (70+) top seeds Tierney & Mullaney successfully defended their title without dropping a game, defeating three seeds John Brazilian & Kush Kumar in the final.
Grand Champions (80+) top seeds Herbert Winokur & Manek Mathur endured two five-gamers in the first round and final on their way to a maiden Century Doubles tour. Winokur & Mathur edged Canadian three seeds Nicholas Trail & Michael Manley 15-14, 11-15, 15-9, 13-15, 15-7.
