JOB OVERVIEW:           

Boar’s Head Resort is in the process of building three world-class Padel courts as part of its vibrant Sports Club offerings. The Head Padel Professional will be responsible for the growth of the sport at the Resort and extending into the Charlottesville community for all ages and levels. The successful candidate will develop, promote, and supervise Padel programs for adults, children and seniors, including instruction, tournaments, leagues, and junior programs. He or she will collaborate with Resort squash and tennis professional staff on a regular basis and assist with squash and pickleball clinics, lessons and programming, as needed. The Head Padel Professional will maximize court utilization and revenue by providing a variety of activities and programs that meet the needs of members and guests. He or she will promote Padel among the membership and act as an ambassador to enhance the value of The Boar’s Head Sports Club.

Administrative office, The Boar’s Head Sports Club and Padel facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Promote the game of Padel at The Boar’s Head Sports Club.
  2. Maximize usage of the Padel facilities to attract new members, and increase revenue.
  3. Develop and promote Padel clinics, groups and private lesson programs including a regular Padel clinic schedule.
  4. Attract Padel tournaments to the Resort to generate revenue and utilize the facility to its fullest capacity.
  5. Responsible for oversight of the general appearance of facility including courts, entrance, viewing/seating, and check-in facility.
  6. Achieve monthly goals and financial targets for lessons/clinics, court revenue, tournaments, and all Padel related revenues.
  7. Coordinate support from professional Padel organizations.
  8. Oversee all Padel tournaments to ensure successful planning and execution.
  9. Supervise all employees associated with the Padel program and work in conjunction with BHSC to ensure proper operations and facility management.
  10. Work with Director of Sports and Wellness and the Sales and Marketing department to formulate promotional material that will generate new memberships, room nights and community awareness.
  11. Assist in the development of racquet sports Stay and Play packages and programs to promote the Boar’s Head Resort and sell additional room nights.
  12. Assist with squash and pickleball lessons, clinics, and programming, as needed.
  13. Solicit, receive, and respond to member feedback.
  14. Appropriately manage court time for all programs and events.
  15. Work closely with Director of Sports and Wellness and Controller on budgeting, billing, and payroll and commission reports, ensuring proper and efficient expense control.
  16. Maintain a positive attitude towards members, guests, staff and support efforts to achieve Forbes’ 4-Star status.
  1. Stay on the leading edge of progress and teaching methods and equipment.
  2. Solve problems quickly and efficiently in the interests of both the Boar’s Head and its guests.
  3. Enforce Club policies.
  4. Attend all staff meetings, other meetings and trainings requested by Director of Sports and Wellness.
  5. Motivate staff to exhibit professionalism and cooperation.
  6. Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience coaching Padel or similar racquet sports for 3-5 years.
  2. At least three years experience working in an exclusive sports complex, private club or resort.
  3. AED and CPR Certified and ability to maintain credentials.
