Position: Head Coach, Squash
Reports to: Director of Athletics
FLSA Status: Stipend, part-time position
Job Summary and Duties:
Sacred Heart Greenwich is looking for a Head Squash Coach to lead our highly successful Squash program at the Upper School level for the Winter Season.
Serve as Head Varsity Squash Coach
Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new players
Develop a skill and tactical curriculum to be implemented by interscholastic squash coaches across all levels.
Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices
Attend all practices and competitions at the direction of the Director of Athletics
Supervise student-athletes during all team activities
Apply for, manage, and host US Squash Tournament, designed to generate incremental revenue for Sacred Heart and increase exposure for the school in the sport of Squash.
Initiate and manage squash clinics and tournaments to attract prospective students and to generate incremental revenue to the school.
Comply with Sacred Heart and sport-specific organization policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other stakeholders
Assist in maintaining equipment and advising Athletic Director on program needs
Typical practice times are:
4:00-6:00pm, Monday- Friday; occasional weekends for matches
Travel with the team for matches and tournaments is required.
The ideal coaching candidate will have experience with the sport at the college level, or equivalent, expertise in teaching sport-specific skills and strategy and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with young women.
The candidate should be energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic athletic and learning community.
