The Arlen Specter US Squash Center will begin offering memberships on June 1, 2021 as it invites families to be a part of the world’s largest community squash center. Whether you are already an active squash player or a new neighbor stepping onto the court for the first time, US Squash looks forward to welcoming the community to the new home of squash in the U.S., located in Philadelphia on the campus of Drexel University.
Inviting and encouraging families to be a part of the world’s largest community squash center, regardless of their experience in the sport, is central to US Squash’s vision in leading squash to be more accessible nationally. Memberships at the Specter Center include a variety of categories and pricing options, with free and reduced-cost memberships to ensure all interested residents are able to enjoy the facility and sport of squash. In addition to memberships, the Specter Center will regularly offer no-cost clinics to expand access and introduce the sport to new players and families.
The Specter Center will enter a preliminary “soft” opening phase this summer with programs and activities mainly focused on the local neighborhood before a planned broader opening in the fall of 2021. Memberships will be introduced in several phases with a fixed number available per phase to ensure the Specter Center’s foundation is a diverse community, and in recognition of restrictions due to Philadelphia’s ongoing recovery from the pandemic.
Memberships offered on June 1 – which will be sold on a first-come first-served basis – will provide the opportunity to use the Specter Center beginning on July 6. More phases will roll out through the summer and fall as activity at the center increases.
