Soo Venkatesan

Soo has 20 years of business and nonprofit experience in the finance, investment and philanthropic sectors. Most recently, Soo served as senior program manager at the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, where she was responsible for supporting regional and statewide educational initiatives. Previously, she invested in and advised a portfolio of private companies and entrepreneurs as a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Capital and later through an advisory firm she co-founded. Soo started her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and investment banking associate at J.P. Morgan. She also serves as a board member of the San Francisco Opera Association, the Partnership for Children, and is a former board member of the San Francisco Education Fund. She advises a number of non-profits in the area of board development and fundraising and is actively engaged in projects focused on youth development, educational equity and innovation as a pro-bono consultant. Soo graduated from the University of Virginia and Harvard Business School.

She is working on improving her squash game with the help of her husband Raj, and two sons, who are active in junior squash.
