“US Squash is thrilled to bring the National Doubles back to Philadelphia,” said Graham Bassett, the Victor Elmaleh Director of Doubles. “The local committee, under the guidance of Shane Coleman, Molly Pierce, Gary Yeager and many others have done a phenomenal job arranging what should be a very fun event for all ages, genders and skill levels.”

The 141 partnerships are competing across a tournament-record eighteen divisions: Men’s Open, A, B, C, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+ and 75+, and Women’s Open, A, B, 40+, 50+ and 60+.

2017 Men’s Open defending champions, Bassett & Preston Quick, return to defend their title as the top seeds. The eleven-team division features a dozen past or present SDA professionals. SDA pros Imran Khan & Aaron Luque oppose Bassett & Quick as the two seeds and Philadelphia locals Ed Garno & Alex Stait enter as the three seeds.

2017 Women’s Open champion Meredeth Quick is in search of a fifth National Doubles title, but enters with a new partner, Dana Betts–a three-time Open champion—as the three seeds. WSDA professionals Stephanie Hewitt—a four-time champion—& Georgina Stoker lead the draw as top seeds, while two seeds Tehani Detter & Latasha Khan seek a maiden title.

A record thirty-two women’s teams have entered six women’s divisions.

2018 National Doubles is the eighty-third iteration of the national championship, and first held in Philadelphia since 2015.
